To all of you who are interested, I recently purchased a product from shooters solutions, the maganese parkerizing kit along with the moly fusion kit. I have to tell you fellas the moly fusion was everything it was advertised.Response to Jimmy:
On one of my 45 colts I built up I had a few small catches - instead of polishing I followed the instructions included with the moly fusion, wow what a difference. Then I treated the barrell my grandfather gave me some ww2 45 ammo which is very dirty, now this is a no bull statement. I used 2 - count em 2 patches and the barrel was clean, I even had to change springs this stuff was so slick. I also cleaned out an old revolver - a police issue Model 66 Smith and Wesson applied the moly and took a full 3/4 pound off of the trigger pull. Now common sense told me that is could have been the crud in the action so I took Dad's new model 19 that had had a trigger and action job cleaned it up, added the Moly fusion and took a full 1 lb off the trigger pull, this is no bull so be careful with this stuff - it is slick,3 times the life:
we used some at work while cutting titanium and got 3 times the life out a bit that normally does not last long, I will do a formal before and after test on this not only at work but on a new pistol that a friend of mine at work bought.
I will post it, the parkerizing kit was a breeze to use, did it right in the kitchen and it turned out so well a local gunsmith did not believe i did it myself, so over he came over and watched me do some other parts, he was truly impressed.
I have no axe to grind just another guy on a budget and let me tell you it was worth every penny and I plan to do it on several other guns. hope to hear from you and by the way you can reach the gentleman at shootersolutions.com good stuff fellas cant say enough about the product and the backing I received from the manufacturer. All I can say is you wont believe it until you try it. Thanks, Jimmy Langley
Jimmy, I've been trying to tell these guys this for months about MF. Just DON'T get it on an end mill shank because a collet will not hold it til you sand it off the shank. I almost never got it clean.
You're right. IT WORKS. :D Bill
Addition 9-10-03:
Well as promised I tried this on my bullseye mitchell, I followed the directions a little bit better and cleaned alot more.
I am here to tell you that I have a heavier spring on order for the gun! Not only did the trigger pull come down a noticeable bit but the gun cleaned up so easily, couple of clean dry patches and she was clean as a whistle. If you are interested go to shootersolution.com this man john knows his stuff. I will tell more when I try this out on a friends new ruger revolver.
I will put this on every gun I own eventually.
